SAMONT expands Mettmann into a service base
for the logistics industry

SAMONT is expanding its Mettmann branch into a service base for the logistics industry. The foundation stone for the new building has now been laid in the Neanderpark industrial estate. Around 6 million euros are being invested in the 2350 square metre service and assembly centre at the Mettmann site.

During the laying of the foundation stone on Marie-Curie-Strasse, Managing Director Jasmin Sarkinovic emphasised that the expansion of the Mettmann site represented a significant step on the growth path that the company continues to strive for. With the new building in Mettmann, SAMONT is creating a modern infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for services for the maintenance and repair of materials handling technology in logistics centres.

Branch manager Michael Gill thanked the council and administration for their support in settling in Neanderpark: "We felt that we are welcome here". As particularly relevant for the choice of location, he emphasised the transport links with the immediate proximity to motorways and airports as well as the well-developed regional infrastructure. This is particularly important for a company like SAMONT, he said, as more than 60 logistics centres are located in the surrounding economic area as potential customers: "We want to reach these customers quickly and support them in their daily work by installing new conveyor technology or keeping existing ones running". The new assembly and service centre in Neanderpark is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in the 4th quarter of 2024.
